Mining

The environmental risks mining presents to land, water, biodiversity and people can be difficult to foresee but have the potential to last long after the mine has closed.

The loss of valuable water and land assets affected by mining are highly significant to local communities and for long term sustainability. The public too needs to understand the potential issues from mining, the management actions taken and the benefits in terms of jobs and income that a mining project can provide.

IEM provides a full range of support services to mining companies to assist in conducting environmental, social and health impact assessments and taking the company through the regulatory process to obtain approvals and permits. Important to this process is community and public involvement programs to exchange information and to build relationships and support over the longer term.

Once operating IEM can conduct environmental risks assessments, monitoring and audits to assist in meeting regulatory and corporate reporting requirements.
